It appears I will have to codename march 22 and mark it a public holiday on my calendar going forward
March 22, 2017 was a special day to me as that day, my business idea got a resounding validation as I entered the hall of fame of The Tony Elumelu entrepreneurship programme, having made a list of 1000 scalable businesses selected out of 96,000 applicants from 54 African countries in 2017. It gave me the much needed tonic to keep my dreams alive and believe I have what it takes to transform Africa.

The competition was stiffer in 2018, with over 150,000 applicants taking a shot at the programme. As part of my contribution to ensure my immediate constituency is a beneficiary of the numerous benefits of the programme, I decided to provide support to applicants for the 2018 programme within my circle of influence. I had over 100 mentee on a whatsapp platform. We spent hours discussing the application questions and refining and projecting their business model to demonstrate impact.

Guess what, after the successful 1250 for 2018 was announced today 22-03-2018, I received a call from one of the silent listeners on the group(He only slides to my dm to ask his questions). His application was successful! My heart burst out into joy as I could not hold back the excitement. My day had been made. I remember saying a silent prayer to God earlier today, asking that I wanted to see result for the effort put into mentoring those applicants.

I have made it a lifestyle to always ensure my success has successor and my joy is only full when I can reproduce my achievements. I am not trying to take the glory for this person’s achievement, but I am happy I was part of their story. The greatest joy you will ever have is the joy of giving. How are you creating impact in your community today? Are you blessing others with yours gifts or holding back? Are you giving back from that which you have been given? #ThinkimpactThinkProgress.
